Watch out for these, they can suck you out to sea! If you find yourself in a rip DO NOT try to swim directly to shore! The easiest way out is to swim across the rip, to one side of the rip. Rips usually go from the shore out to sea so if you try and swim against the rip to the beach you will get exhausted and may get sucked out to sea! Cry for help or wave for a lifeguard, but try not to panick, this will only make you tired. These are only recommendations, for further information ask your lifeguard before entering the surf. |
