Tribe Fiskr Freshie Bodyboard
"Fiskr" is old Norse for "fish" and this baby is a unique addition to the Tribe lineup. When first designing the Fiskr, the intent was to design a board with wave pool and river riders in mind. A more flexy PE core to fit the curves of these kinds of waves, including two 3/4 length stringers to keep the back end nice and rigid, while allowing the nose end of the board to bend into the contours of the wave or river flow. We beefed it up a bit with a layer of mesh under the slick and made it a high volume board for added buoyancy for freshwater riders.
We quickly realized this one was going to be a winner in the ocean as well, especially for those in cold water locations that need the buoyancy for extra wetsuit weight, but also need the softer core to counteract the stiffness caused by frigid water temps. We added a thumb groove down the rail to enhance grip (especially helpful for you glove wearers) and put in deck bulbs and a more durable HDPE slick with QUAD channels to complete the package.
