Mike Stewart Viper Swimfins
Wider, shorter blade design for quick acceleration. Beveled sidewalls improve control. Delta tail design; which I have found to enhance control and minimize drag. Maximum foot pocket drainage eliminates any sand or pebbles in your kick. Rivet grip tread enhances footing on slippery rocks yet won’t snag on coral or sharp objects. All VIPER surfing fins float high and are visible in the roughest surf conditions. All VIPER surfing fins are made of superior 100% natural rubber compounds. Boxed in a sturdy recycled cardboard and printed with soy base ink
I have been bodyboarding for about 35 years and have tried a dozen different fins. I wear a size 15 shoe so I have always been limited in my selection. Over the years I have come... view more to the conclusion that a fin with more flex is the best type of fin for me. It allows for more agility, less strain, less cramping, and quicker propulsion. These Vipers fit that mold very well! I teamed them up with a pair of Gyroll fin straps and was very pleased with their performance. They gave me everything I needed and most of all I never really noticed them on my feet until I started kicking into a wave. I highly recommend these fins, especially for those of you with massive feet. view less
These fins overall are excellent. The flex is good and they're lighter than my dub zero's which... view more is a plus. I bought them because they were lighter and had better drainage on the bottom. The biggest complaint I have with them is that at the toe end of the foot pocket, the pockets themselves come down to a point, giving me an uncomfortable feeling whenever I wiggle my toes. I'm a size 11-12 shoe size, medium width, I bought the large yellow dot version. I had this same problem with the tribe T2s. (my friend has the T2s and loves them). My big toe virtually has no room to move around. I have plenty of space width-wise but not length. I'm assuming the length changes more dramatically with an increase in size than width does so maybe if I go up a size they'll fit better. I'll try out an extra-large in the future. All this is probably due to having a heel guard on which makes it even tighter. I'll still be able to use them without any sort of in-fin leach or skin protector. I'll probably go back to my dub zero's until I can find something lighter. and has a rounded toe area like my Da Fins. view less
Did not surpass or even match the fit of my current fins (I'm 13.5). The foot opening was small and the width on the narrow side. Quality seems nice but I prefer more surface area ... view moreand a larger foot size.
Jay was prompt w/a refund upon my returning the fins.
FYII. This is a great shop. Years ago I was having "issues" and was a d%&k when my order wasn't perfect. Jay/Vicki were very gracious w/me and kept the good vibes flowing.
